Shouldn’t Miss News of the Week

Here’s some news that I think you shouldn’t miss. Enjoy!

Pioneer cemetery scan had surprising result: I enjoy when technology like GPR (which is non-invasive to the burials) can be used to show where unmarked burials are, where sunken stones are located, and more.

Cyclorama building at Gettysburg will be demolished: It’s removal will allow the site to be restored to its 1863 appearance.  What do you think, good idea or one that removes a different part of the site’s history, it’s interpretational history?

Judge Dismisses Complaint Against City for Denying Prentice Landmark Status: A good summary of everything that has happened thus far in this preservation battle.  The judge is allowing the complaint to be amended, so hopefully just a hiccup in getting this building saved.

Country Music Hall of Fame shatters attendance record: I always enjoy sharing a good news story, especially when many museums are struggling to bring up their numbers.

Providence seeking endangered properties: This is from my friends at the Providence Preservation Society, and I put it on my Facebook page as well, but as not all of you follow me on there, and vice versa, I wanted to give it more exposure by putting it in both places.
